For a 2K budget may have to look for
something like a 4dr American sedan.
Not an ex police Crown Vic but instead
one owned by mom & pop. Usually not
driven hard more likely to have avg or
below avg miles on it. Below avg maint
cost long as not time for the aod tranny

they are out there, just gotta look.

My older son got a high mileage but very clean 2015 Camry with new tires for about 5 grand a couple months ago.

And my younger son got a beat up 2005 Corolla for a grand. He had to do some minor work and a deep cleaning on it, about another 800,

but now they both got reliable to/from work cars that get good mileage.
