300 blackout bolt gun

Did you adjust your trigger? Mine was pretty stiff out of the box and didn't improve much on adjustment.
I did. Mine was very stiff as well. I read a lot of forum info and folks just take the set screw out. The trigger return spring is bigger than the hole for the adjustment screw so it wont fall out.

I have also ordered an Mcabro trigger spring for it. If the gun shoots worth a **** I'll be putting in a Jard with flat face eventually. https://www.mcarbo.com/ruger-american-rifle-trigger-spring-kit.aspx

You could always go with a little straight pull action.

Forgot to post mine here.

Got it set up with a scope I had laying around. Definitely overkill being a 4.5-30x50 XRS II. But should give me plenty of elevation to work with for now.

Got some reloading supplies to try out. Going to load up several test loads to see how they work out.

Will report back Saturday with results.

Also, I caved and ordered an MDT field chassis and AICS mag.
Is this the chassis you ordered…it doesn’t specify Gen II but it fits?

According to forums yes they fit fine.

According to MDT some customers have had to do some filing in the safety area to accommodate the new 3 position safety. but confirmed it would not hurt the chassis in any way.

Thanks, let us know how yours fits and shoots…I am not impressed with the way my Gen II stock fits. It’s floating but the gap is wider on one side of the barrel.
Just cosmetic I know but it still bothers me lol.

Mine is the same way. I have seen a video where a guy took lead shot and epoxy and filled in the voids in forearm of the rifle and supposedly made it super strong and less flimsy.

Here's the video... Skip to the 2:40 mark YMMV

I think I’ll just buy a chassis lol. That looks like a lot of work (and extra weight) and I’m still not sure it really accomplished a stiffer, more accurate platform?
I might just sand mine a little so it’s visually better. Maybe add a pressure point near the end of the stock? Lots of old timers swear by that method over free floating but idk…
At my age I’m looking for a light weight, suppressed hunting rifle…not a heavy bench gun in .300AAC BLKOUT. I’m just wondering what hanging a can on the end will do to that flimsy stock forearm.
