True..but I also know that on almost every military installation in Iraq there's a detachment of US "advisers"...

Update says heaviest fighting is 5-10 miles away,ISIS is claiming to have captured the
base and iraq has lost contact with its people in the base.This report is 3 hrs older than the intial one

Ah crap. I hope they weren't there then. But if they were I hope someone gets them out before those ISIS freaks can harm them.


I wonder if I can take my old ass into Iraq and hook up with the Kurds and help do a little house cleaning. Maybe take a nice Rem 700 and a SBR along with me.

How are they trapped in an air base?
Any reason they couldn't fly out....

It is far easier to fly in reinforcements than fly out. Someone has to give cover while the birds get off the ground. There is no getting out once you are under siege.
