That's easy...could be a forward fighter base...may not have a runway to support anything bugger than a C130 which likely is NOT kept there. If they have helos they may be of the attack type and not transport. 300 people is a lot to evacuate via air even if you had Pavelows.

What's very worrying is that is a training base..which means their supplies and real combat capability may be limited. I have no doubt those Marines will fight to the death...i just hope they have what they need to do so. I really hope no one is told to stand down like the last time Americans were trapped.

...BUT ISIS is on the run...

My understanding is that this was our second largest air base in Iraq. Hopefully we can fly supplies in or Osprey/Herc these guys out. Without a damn plan and full, gloves off support from the White house these guys need to be pulled out.

At least 1 battalion of The 82 could be there in 12 hours. Several SEAL teams and a Marine detachment could be there in an hour from a carrier group. Hell the girl scouts could be there in a day. What will POTUS do?
