"Used to be" ... when?
I'm not buying anymore .308 ammo until it comes down to the same inflation-adjusted price it was several years ago.
I think that was about 50 cents per shot for cheap steel-cased imported ammo, 75 cents per shot for American made brass cased FMJ ammo, $1 per round for plain-Jane soft-point hunting ammo, $1.25 per round for open-tip match hollowpoint rounds with 168 gr. bullets, or $2. a round for premium ballistic tip hunting ammo.
I'm not expecting 10 cents per round with free shipping, like I got from SARCO in the early 1990s
(Portuguese military surplus from the early 1970s).
But I'm not paying a buck a round for cheap range ammo.
