I haven't been through this process before, but I know I will need an attorney.

Can anyone recommend a divorce attorney near Dalton / Whitfield county?

In the past, I've read the best advice is: delete from Facebook, hit the gym, lawyer up.

I'm on that Lawyer Up phase now.

It's been 30+ years, but...

Do not speak with her. Period.

Get a bulldog attorney if you have ANY assets like a home.

Do NOT volunteer to leave the house. Do NOT volunteer to leave your home.

Be polite, be professional. do NOT swear or threaten, even over family possessions.

Do not agree to give away anything. From cars to bank accounts.

Stop any direct deposits into any joint account.

Lastly, do NOT voluntarily leave the house. You will lose it.

Don't text anyone or use Facebook or messenger or anything that can be tracked. but DO take copious notes of any egregious behavior.

Sorry man I know first hand how bad this sucks and how ugly it can get. Stay away from the big firms that advertise on radio and T.V. they will bleed you dry.

I do hope there are no children involved. They suffer the most.
Don't know the circumstances and do not want to, just know that if you are in the wrong, bend over and grab your ankles.
50 years ago, I left with my hat and my azz and both had holes in them. I was not in the wrong either.
Just have faith, you will get through it.
