40 Years Ago...............

No mention of pilot intoxication in NTSB report.
"The National Transportation Safety Board determines that the probable cause of this accident was fuel exhaustion and total loss of power from both engines due to crew inattention to fuel supply. Contrlbuting to the fuel exhaustion were lnadcquate Flight planning and an engine malfunction of undetermined nature in the right:engine which resulted in higher-than-normal fuel consumption. "

Long long story short. They flew to a concert with one of the engines leaking fuel and a visible flame coming from it. While the band played the concert, the mechanics worked on the plane but for what ever reason could not get it fixed. After the concert, the band and the pilots decided it would be ok to fly back home. They had enough fuel to make it home. However, they did not take into account the amount of fuel leaking from the damaged engine.
