45 Raptor AR10 range report

LoL...neither had I.
I had replied to a thread on the S&W 460, which I have one. The only rifle i could find was a $2800 lever action...hell no!
The 45 Raptor is a rimless 460. The base matches the 308win. Load data and bullets are identical to 460. Out of a 16" barrel, a 250gr bullet pushes 2600fps.
Im intrigued and bored, so, I'm going to build one.
I've been tempted to build my AR10 in one, just can't decide if it should be a pistol or rifle. A 12" AR10 pistol seems pretty sweet & potent with a 45 Raptor but a 16" would add a lot of velocity to it.
I read on another forum that a guy clocked his 20" 460 at 2875 with 200gr factory ammo. Since you can use 460 load data, i'd expect it to be the same power with the Raptor.

I was reading the same 2800+ fps data with 200gr and that is part of what has me building one. The ability to go fast and light and switch to 300+ gr for some serious energy.I'm going with the 16" barrel and adjustable gas block.
Depending on how I like the setup, I may thin the AR15 herd. Right now I'm using 6.8SPC for hog and most are DRT when hit; but I like the pistol/rifle matching caliber setup the 45 Raptor offers.

I'm tempted to start a buildup one up, been searching parts for a 224 Valkyrie build but haven't gotten started that so I may switch. Still waiting on some of my gun's to sell before I get started buying up more stuff though.
Any thoughts on the Saturn Liberty barrels?

Finally got to the range with my Aero built 45 Raptor. This rifle is accurate, smooth running and less recoil than a 308.
16" Liberty barrel on an Aero upper/lower and a bunch of other goodies. Finished in a Kryptec Ceracote.
Hornady FTX 200gr, Starline brass, Mag Rifle primers and 50gr W196. Cronographed at 2850fps.
Sighted in at 100yd, last 3 shot group in the bullseye after adjustments...I'd say it's good.
