I'm in and understand you gesture- lost my dad back in the 50s- always wonder how things would have been different....but as a Dad I would tell you that Dads always know their kids love them and always love their kids

I'm in. My dad's been gone since June 23, 2001, miss him everyday. He started me out shooting as soon as I could hold the H&R Sportsman 22 revolver steady. Still have that as well as the Marlin 39A, waiting to pass them down to my grandson when he's old enough.

in, wish my dad was still around. the good Lord took him back in march. he was a very strict man. air force, viet soldier, fought in the viet war. had a very hard way of expressing his love for me. even though he was my foster dad, i saw him as my blood and he saw me as such

thanks for the giveaway

I'm in.

My dad is still here luckily. He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2008, and at the time of his diagnosis he was told that he had 6 months to live. He went through chemotherapy and radiation and has been in remission since 2009. My dad has always been there for me, if I ever needed anything he is only a phone call away. Sadly he got laid off from his job two weeks ago after being with his old company for 20 years working from home. I pray that he is going to have the strength to get up every day and go into work at a "real" job. He never got 100% strength back after going through his cancer treatments. I thank god every day that he is still here with us because most people who were diagnosed with his level of cancer did not make it. I feel truly blessed to still have him around.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers on ODT.

Can I get in on this?

Only met my biological father once but I've got a couple of great guys that I consider father figures who I appreciate more than I can possibly say.

Also, if I can brag for a quick second, today's my first Father's Day as a dad, which I'll be spending with my beautiful daughter!

BTW, sorry to hear about your loss.

My dad was born in '27 and missed WWII by THIS much!

He joined the Navy and solo'd and then they said give us six years and he said "no thanks" and then he got drafted four years later...

Luckily he was sent to Germany instead of Korea which is one of the reasons I am here today.

Love ya, Dad, and you have always been the BEST for me.

In, and thanks!

In, sorry to hear about your dad. Mine is in Michigan sure would be nice to be able to spend father's day with him. But we can call and enjoy some good convo over the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm very grateful to still have my father. We weren't real close when I was a kid, because he worked all the time to provide for his family. When I grew up and was in his shoes I finally understood the sacrifices he made for us, and now we're very close. I'm glad we've had the time together to learn to understand each other.

When he was drafted he did his duty, came home and went back to work. He's been at the same job for over 40 years and I'd bet I could count the days he's called out sick on one hand. He's the quiet unassuming backbone of America that we don't have enough of anymore and so desperately need.
