Whats the average "good" price for 223/556? I don't want to over pay. I want like a average good price for brandname like Federal and such..., no TULA or Brown blue silver bear. Those are really cheap like $200 for 1k rounds.

Bad time to buy. If you don't NEED it, I would suggest waiting it out. Currently, the firearms / ammo industry is treating it's customers like they're stupid because it's an election year. Your money, your call - but I'd hold off for now.

You are not going to find any Federal LC, PMC, Winchester etc for less than $340 pr 1k plus shipping. sgammo has 1k of m855 winchester for $494 and Igman m193 for $414 for 1k. Wideners did have some M855 LC bulk pack at $346 for 1k a week or so ago.
If you are wanting to stock up you waited to late with the current buying frenzy going. If you don't need it than Id wait 6 months to a year and prices should stabilize back down after the election and 2012 scare-a-thon.

Wideners did have Wolf performance ammo at $240 for 1k but if people don't want to shoot cheap steel case then it sucks to be them, since there isn't any "cheap" brass ammo to be found.

Thankfully I have been stacking it deep for years now both brass and steel case "plinking" ammo.

Cherokee Gun & Pawn had PMC Bronze for $339 per 1k when I called at the beginning of the week. For brass case you'll be lucky to get it for est $7 per 20. My local Wally world has the American Eagle black box stuff for $7 give er take a few cents

I've seen Tul and wolf and brown bear silver bear silver tiger for about 230 for 1k. But I never shot them and most ranges I go to don't allow those kind of ammo.

What price should 223/556 be on par with? 9mm? I see its only like 50-80grains so really you're paying extra for the extra metal that they use to make the ammo...

I just got 556 rifle, I really need some to play around... Is the brand Aguila good?

.28 a rd for brass 4 months ago, you'll spend .35 now. Get a couple types of steel and see which runs in your AR. WPA is supposed to be pretty good. If I can find 100 rds to test I'll let you know. LOL
