6.5 creedmoor for deer

I’ve dropped several with 55gr 556, 6.5 Creedmore is more than ample medicine for whitetail.
I’d agree with everyone on the 140gr soft points as well.

💯 if a .223 can drop deer, a 6.5CM levels them. I use 140 ELDX. I’ve shot 2 and dropped them in their tracks.

I don’t have one but a few friends do- mixed reviews. I’m thinking the Barnes loads- 120 TTSX or the 127 LRX- would be great. Anyone tried them?
I shoot the 120gr ttsx barnes factory ammo in my 6.5. I have yet to shoot a deer with one however I shot a sounder of hogs last year with it and dropped them all in their tracks. The biggest of that group was probably 180 pounds, I shot another hog later in the winter that was roughly 225 pounds and it dropped in its tracks. Those barnes ttsx bullets wreck havoc on them. Good wound channels, good exit wound and would easily leave a blood trail if the animal ran. The only other bullet I would shoot out of mine is a 140gr nosler accubond.

6.5 crymore goes to the range for plinking . I take the .308 to the deer woods for work....lol

6.5 crymore with a soft point hunting bullet will kill a deer. I enjoy shooting mine with 140 grain bullets. I have muzzle brakes on all of my rifles so for me recoil is a non issue. Hunt with what you have at a reasonable distance.
