6.8 or 308 for hunting

The question boils down to finances for me. If I had the resources, I'd of course get one of each caliber mentioned and all the Ammo I needed for each, but since I cannot afford all of that, I choose the most versatile round and that's the 308. If you can afford one rifle - this is the one to have.
 
And I vote you just stick with 308. My FAL gives the firepower and fast shooting for that kind of situation while using a true high powered round...

Ive owned a 6.8 and 300 blk and liked them but decided to stick with 556 and 308 for there respective roles without trying to find the compromise.

I've got some 6.8 stuff boxed up. Including a bolt and several mags and factory ammo if you decided to go that route though... Just let me know
