How about something completely different. Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm. By far the one of the best feeling guns that I have ever handled. Alum frame and only hold 9 rounds. 1911 ergos with v-bob grip for non-printing. Now the bad, pricey if you can even find one right now (think $1600 and up).

I also have a XD40 because I like the grip safety feature in addition to the trigger safety. One other might be a Beretta 92FS as they nice SA/DA and you can find parts easy.

I love my Walther PPS, its an excellent carry pistol. Never ever had a jam, misfire, malfunction or broken part. Eats every kind of round I've threw at at.

Don't worry about the brand
Go to a range that has a large selection of rentals

That said I have an old metal framed Kahr K9
Fits my hand great
I like the Glock design and the short trigger reset and they are practically indestructible. But they just don't fit my hand And are too wide to conceal easily for me

I also carry a snub .38
Lighter. Cheaper. Very easily concealed
Doesn't eject Shells all over the crime scene ....

Also the PPQ has nothing wrong with it, it is a tackdriver.
