The deer definitely KNOW the season has opened. My niece is out of the hospital but having to stay with us while they try to figure out her breathing problems. her house sits on the edge of about 100 acres of family land and the neighbors on one side have about 45. The county owns about 30 on the other side and another family about 110 beyond that. I just got back from bringing my nieces goats in for the night about 30 minutes ago. I can see into the neighbor's back yard going up her drive and saw a buck and some young ones. I assume does were nearby. In my niece's yard as I drove up, I scattered a buck, a couple of does and some young ones. They're all up close to the houses where it's not hunted, feeding at night. Yep, they know the season opened.
