A local hawk on patrol for the next meal.....

A family member shared this with me - looks like a red-tailed hawk. There is a pair that live in their subdivision.

There are other pics of them on nearby houses or just standing in the yard. They are quite large too!

i've seen him take 2 or 3 right in front of me in the 7 years i have lived here.

We watched one of a pair yesterday spiraling up on a thermal but the large one (looked to have a 5-6' wingspan) was definitely "on patrol."

Red shoulder hawk they do keep the rats snakes under control

i've seen him take 2 or 3 right in front of me in the 7 years i have lived here.

Maybe he thought he'd better get them before you did. He probably still thinks he beat you to 'em!

have one makes pass on my bird feeders about every 2 weeks saw where he had got a dove this PM

Beautiful birds for sure! Saw one get squirrel at house other day!
