Illegal sbr? Factory made?

It was an illegal SBR, but done by ignorance and not malice aforethought. Whoever cut it measured to the back of the barrel extension, and not to the back of the chamber. Rookie mistake.

Not factory.......at least I don’t think so. Someone cut a 20” rifle barrel down.

There’s a dimple in the threads, probably for a pin, but it was never pinned.

I carry muzzle break and barrel nut shims in all sizes to avoid crap like that. I am another that has never seen anything like that before. Sometimes it can be a pain to time some but nothing that extreme.

I wasn’t here when someone tried to return it. My guess is installing a barrel nut without using a reaction rod.

my reaction rod has been an amazing purchase. even for just muzzle devices it is awesome.

I use a Geissele RR and a Midwest URR. I use the URR for stuff I need to torque on.
