I looked at the HD7 and almost got one until I noticed in one review that the LED assembly stuck out inside the housing. Seeing that every time would annoy the piss out of me. Primary arms has $60 red dots this weekend, and I'm probably going with that.Have you looked at the Lucid HD7? It looks similar to the ACOG, costs about the same as the one in your OP, and they get very good reviews.

Heads up then...the primary arms, $60 with ar riser "hot deal", has the led visible also....most have said its not visible or bothersome enough to be a deal breaker tho.
If looks are more important than function then go for it. Otherwise, do some research on decent optics in that price range, regardless the shape their plastic bodies are molded into.
