Well....I'm picking up a stock and I intend to bed it myself. I bought some Marine Tex epoxy resin, but it's white. I want to add a pigment or dye to it so it matches the wood. Who has some experience with this sort of thing and what did you use?

Dry powder paints really work well as do most cloth dyes. I use black powdered paint from Hobby Lobby, Walmart, etc. I've heard you could use powdered graghite as well but I have never tried it.

Though I haven't tried it myself I have heard you can use fine sawdust. I would think that would significantly weaken it though???
You may want to just try to match the surface of it after it has set up?
Rit dye sounds like it would probably work. The bedding is out of sight once the action is mated to the stock anyways.
Let us know what you come up with.
