I find myself needing a walking aid sometimes. Not all the time but occasionally when my back is real bad and my knees go at it as well. What I need is somebody to give me the skinny on how to go to about it some of the insurance will cover it. I was thinking maybe a cane but sometimes that might not be enough. These last few days have been literally crippling and I'm hobbling around the house and just can't do much at all.

Anybody have some words of wisdom or advice on how to go about this?

you can just buy a cane at walmart, that will be cheapest for you. If you need something more like a "granny" walker, you know the one with the tennis balls then those too are pretty cheap and can find them at target or walmart but you may have to special order them. For something like a rollator seated walker with hand brakes then that might be something you need to go through your provider for as you want to "spend" the money on a quality one.

I think I'll pass on the granny Walker!

Amazon has a wide selection across all price ranges. You’ll want to size it right to fit your build and ailment, and use it some around the house to get used to it before venturing out.

I made a couple for myself….not terribly difficult….

I used a cane for 18years, and a back brace, because of my Cancer. The cane worked for me, I'm not going to lie the pain medication also helped, but now I'm not using neither. Good Will was good advice but look at thrift stores they have allot of canes and other items. Good luck
