Advice on selling wood needed.

Ok so here's the basic rundown.. I purchased about 14 acres a few months ago and it's got all different types of trees from pine,oak,poplar and I think hickory. Anyone got any advice on where to begin to see if there is any value in the timer/lumber? Thanks for any help.

There's a company in Macon called Forest Resource Consultants- they evaluate timber for a living... maybe give them a call and see what they have to say.

I would not cut them, fastest way to make beautiful land ugly. Just my 2 cents.

I agree to a point, I wouldn't want it completely cleared but there are some that need to go so we can build.

Hope it helps- I haven't used them personally, but I'd assume they'd help with getting you pointed in the right direction at least. Maybe they can handle it all for you.

Most companies don't want to mess with what they consider a small tract of trees. Sometimes you can get them removed for the big lumber, but they leave the mess behind. Good luck

If I just gave the lumber away would there be any interest in a company coming and clearing it some?
