My sister owns a condo in Navarre beach. It's right on the beach. Navarre is a small long Island connected by a bridge in either end. Pensacola is on the West in fort Walton Beach is on the right so there are plenty places to eat and it's a quiet place we're not a lot of hooplas going on. It's perfect for a couple wanting to get out. The condo is not facing the beach but is situated in a little condo unit right on the beach. You can walk to the beach in less than a minute. It's a really nice place to go visit because you have the sound on one side which you can fish in and the ocean on the other side of the island so you're actually between two beaches. If you're interested let me know and I'll put you in contact with my sister. I used to take the kids there all the time because not a lot of teenagers go and raise hell there. It's a scenic Little Island but the hotels are not monster tourist jobs. The condos and houses are small and quaint.

Never been to Destin but it looks like it's about the same distance as Panama City so that's a possibility. The resort is called beachside Tower? Can you walk to any bars or restaurants from there?

Resort is called San Destin Resort. We stay in Beachside tower 1 or 2. Restaurant on the premises along with bar.

Lots of recommendations for the Redneck Riviera. I prefer the Atlantic coast.
We spent a weekend with friends at Ponte Vedra beach recently, but the whole East coast is practically one long motel strip.
