Advise Needed: Zero Turn Mowers. 48”-52”. What Do You Recommend?

EXCELLENT advise! Thank you for the information!

One common theme I noticed is to avoid the big box Home Depot/Lowes stores, that a dedicated power equipment dealer is the only way to go.

Looks like I’ve got some research to do

:yo:
Might be a bit far but Mike and Katie at Smith Equipment in Monroe are amazing people. They usually have deals going too and 0% financing. I got a free $300 Echo trimmer with my hustler purchase.

TLDR: I'm more interested in buying from a good local dealer than I am in a specific brand.

I went and got a quote on a mower today. The shop has been there forever and they service everything. Family business. They'll even pick up and drop off. They sell Gravely. There's another shop that sells Bad Boy and Scag, but they have only been open for about 4 years. Choosing between those brands is secondary to choosing which shop I want to deal with, looking for services going years down the road. I have done a good deal of lawn mower maintenance myself but getting into a commercial zero-turn I'm going to guess could get out of my comfort zone.

Replaced my toro time cutter 2 years ago with another other one.old one lasted 17 years we use it to cut paths to the deer stands.
It really depends on your use I would go with a commercial type if I had a lot to cut, just a average yard I think all them will work as long as you are not abusive.

Thanks for all of the help! Today I purchased a Bad Boy ZT Elite 48” with a Kawasaki engine from The Tractor Place in Centre, Alabama.

Hopefully it’ll serve me well for a LONG time. I’m broke, LOL

Stanley and Tyler are good folks, bought my brother a Cub Cadet from the last year and my brother has dealt with them for years. I was over there yesterday cutting grass at my property yesterday. I'm looking to buy another mower, let me know how you like it and the price, actually on for the wife. Plus if you tell them you are from Ga. No Sales Tax. But I paid cash.

Glad OP found a good mower. I went to the Scag/Bad Boy dealer. Much preferred dealing with the Gravely dealer. So that made up my mind for me. I'm sure they're all good.

Yes Sir, I paid cash, so no sales tax.

I'll send you a review when we get to mow with it. Likewise, my wife will be mowing with it the vast majority of the time. That's why I went with a 48" deck. A 48" deck is what's on our old traditional "steering wheel" style mowers, so she's confident with that size mower.

Indeed, the folks at The Tractor Place are awesome.
