Ahhhh great. Bought a stolen iPhone...

Who says that the "owner" is not really the owner? It could be another party to the scam. Wonder how many times that same phone has been re-sold?

I bought a phone off ebay years ago. After I got the phone and tried to activate it I found that it was unable to activated because it was still connected to someones account. I contacted the seller and she said that she worked at a tow/repo company and she found it in a care the repossessed. I asked for my money back and she told me tough luck. Paypal refunded my money and I got a call a few months later that she was arrested for several felonies when Sprint got wind of the situation.

No, but I'd pay $350 to have a thief arrested. Gladly. He's just going to keep doing it to others.

That's the thing, I don't know the actual seller? The guy who posted it, called him and he showed up. I only know his first name from what he says. Yeah I got proof of the guy posting it up for sale but who to say that all white iPhone 6 are the same? He could say it's another white iPhone 6?

In wondering... You guys would spend $350 for a phone to give it back to the right owner?

Yep. Without second thought (and I can't afford to throw away money lately).

That said, the thief would be reported to the police without pause no matter who they were.

I can't believe you even asked this question.

Do the right thing.

Or not. It's up to you.

Yes I've made the decision to give it back to the owner yesterday by calling them and giving them my name and number. Im just trying to figure out what other options do I have? Seems like I'm always doing the right thing for others and not the other way around. I already told the owners I am going to the Cobb county police department and see what they say since the guy who I know didn't really sell it and he texted me saying he "didn't know" it was another persons phone. So that's all he has to say to get off the hook and while I do not have the actual guys information, it's pretty much useless for criminal charges.

Did you meet the guy? If so presumably you can ID him. He sold stolen merchandise. It's that simple. I'd meet the owners at the police station so they can verify their phone was stolen and give the PD the relevant info.
