ak47 question

i have a maadi ak i purchased about 15 years ago.and not knowing what i was doing then, i tried to install a scope mount.
wound up with 3 holes in the receiver.they have not affected the rifle but i would like to fix them.
can i weld them up with a TIG welder and refinish the receiver or do i need a replacement> and where would i get a replacement?
receiver has on it:
RML semi automatic rifle
caliber 7.62x39
maadi company
made in egypt

Plastic auto body plug cut to size and forget about it. Its an AK.

I wouldn't try and get a new receiver... it would have to be riveted (sp?) into place.

It looks like the holes are just under the rails. Not a problem.

If it were mine, I'd weld 'em closed, sand 'em down & repaint.

If you're going to sell it, just sell it & take the loss as is.

This is what I would do as well... oh, and let me know if you want to sell it

lol not looking to sell..had it for a long time...was thinking fix it and pass it on to a future grandchild one day.
is painting the best way to refinish the receiver or is there a better way?
