I live next to national forest land and have deer in the yard pretty much all the time. I rarely see bucks here but on occasion one passes through. For the most part, every spring does will hop my fence and have their fawns. The fawns stay trapped inside my fence till they are big enough to jump over. I think the moms do this to keep them safe while they hop out and go do their thing for awhile and come back to nurse. I named these twins born here a couple of years ago Thing 1 and Thing 2. I could walk right up to them but never got too close cause Mom would be right up the hill having a tizzy. I watched them grow up but don't know which ones they are now that they all look alike or even if they survived the last couple of deer seasons.
