It has occurred to me recently that the more expensive ammo becomes, the less likely I am to sell any of mine. Thoughts ?

opposite for me.
Between the non stop complaining about prices, and the possibility of greatly reduced future sales due to massively increased regulation, I have just shoved what little I have to the back of the closet.
I be training pistols with bb's. short range drills, and draws are pretty good with them only con is no recoil, and less range (but pistols are usually used in very short ranges anyways) pros **** dirt cheap

Only time I really be shooting now is if I'm hunting animals with a rifle, or want to test out a new gun/rare occasions. I aint got the gula to spend $70 on 100 rounds to march out to the woods once or twice a week, and watch money burn. When I can get most of the fundimentals in my backyard for pennies.

That's why you have to stock up while times are good. In Dec/Jan, I dropped 60K on guns & ammo. That investment is worth double to triple now. What I did not anticipate was Trump loosing the election, otherwise I would of been much more aggressive. Ammo wise, last December ammo wise example, I bought 23 cases of Golden Tiger 762-39 at 180 each case. Now the market price is 450-500+. Where I f'ed up is assuming Trump was going to have another 4yrs. So I had bought a little just incase, which I nearly tripled my money with. However, I was planning drop 200k on guns and ammo in Trump's 6th year in office, before prices skyrocket and turn that into 600-800K. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. I'll never assume again. I don't want any of ya'll to make make the same assumptions as well. If time's are good, Buy/Invest... Simple.
I’m selling everything except 9mm and 556. I don’t shoot the other stuff enough to let it sit on the shelf at today’s prices.
