Anderson lower, 30 bucks!

The bolt catch "fun" is addressed in Kari's Guns Stripped Lower: they use a screw-in modification.
That said, I really have never had a problem witht the roll-pin ... It's just the "heart-stopping" moment that I do it that
makes the process ... STRESSFUL!

I normally opt to use a metal trigger guard that attaches with a threaded pin ... instead of the roll-pin.

Just get a set of Knipex plyers and be done with the issue. Very easy to press them in and just put a piece of electrical tape on the jaws to prevent any scratches.

Ditto

I use LARGE Channel-Lock plyers wrapped in plastic electrical tape, with tape on the Lower itself to assure no marks.
Before that, I start the roll-pins with a roll-pin start punch (think: a punch with a hollow shaft) ... I usually clean out the holes first to assure that there isn't an over-abundance of finish coating there (and I do this for every "hole" where a pin goes!). A set of drill bits make a fine set of "reams" for cleaning the "holes". A light application of lithium lube helps ease the way.

I'm not the biggest AR fan except for the older style 9mm and retro builds. The main reason I built the one I have now was to convert it to 9mm later on. I want to use the drop in magwell block and the Colt style mags. But from what I've seen you have to remove and reinstall the damn bolt release every time you want to change back and forth. Plus the dedicated 9mm lowers just keep getting cheaper. Since PSA started making them they completely dropped their old style magwell adapter. And recently they don't even show the dedicated 9mm lower setup for the Colt mags. Yeah Glock mags are ALL THAT and plentiful etc. But those rifles just look funny with the mag hanging out all crooked.
Sorry...Rant over.
I have zero experience with 9mm AR's, but this magwell block looks like it just slides in.

A $20 set of three roll pin punches helped me. Gotta have them.

Sometimes I also polish the leading end of a pin a little using my garage floor and a pair of pliers.

Here's an 8 piece set fer $34.

Seriously?!

Damn, we need to get into the magwell block making business!
Most likely I've been told about Hahn Precision before and they make good stuff but it aint cheap. That's why I never had one in 9mm before. For the cost of all the 9mm components and upper you could build 2 rifles in 5.56.
