Impressive with irons. My eyes are getting older. Tougher than usual today at 50 yards with a 3x ACOG.

Me too brother! I recently put a TR24G on one of my ARs to combat the effects of "older eyes", lol.

I really don't have a clue what this will become. This was my first time building a lower from scratch. I got the billet (SOTA) upper/lower combo from WyattEarp46 along with an Anderson LPK. I had the Kak and Hogue grip leftover from a changed-my-mind build. It's not quite an AR yet but still looks pretty cool, I think.

And, after navigating through the youtube fog, I found that installing parts into a lower wasn't as intimidating as I felt that it would be. The only thing that I struck with a "hammer" was the bolt catch pin, everything else I installed without beating on it.

I now have a clue.

My build seems to be morphing. Same billet upper/lower with a cheap A2 stock/buffer tube combo, PSA CHF, 5.56, 20" rifle barrel with a leftover pistol tube holding it in place until the rest of my parts come in. It will become a "semi-retro" A2 20" rifle. I decided against the pinned, f marked front sight post so that I can remove the fixed front and rear sights that will be picatinny mounted, and throw a scope on it completely unobstructed.

Roughly thrown together for now. Still waiting for the YHM steel gas block with swivel and bayonet lug before I tighten things up. I've got UTG clamp on fixed sights, and that is a DPMS aluminum gas block temporarily holding things together. After reading about the dilemmas of aluminum gas blocks I ordered the steel one, which will actually complete my semi-retro look. Yeh, I know I haven't installed a dust cover or forward assist yet; working on it.

I suppose that now I will have to suck it up and buy some metal magazines to complete the A2 look.

I see that your eyes are still functioning well. I will be needing the scope for stuff like that.

What brand of sling is that you got there? Nice looking rig by the way.
