Another great reason to carry

u

Last time I checked it was my yard they came in. And yes I would run any dog out of my yard the same way. What you want me to do wait till they attack or just ask them politely to leave? Keep your dog in your yard and we want have a problem. Thats the way I see it. And no its not self fulfilling prophecy to me is protecting my property and my childern which last time I checked was my right to do. What would you have done? See how that works?

I have no problem with your answer at all. I thought that your reaction was due to the fact that the dogs were pits, not just any dog. As long as your consistent, no problem.

Obviously you're not old enough to remember when the EXACT SAME THINGS were being said about Shepherds and Dobermans. Hell, it's STILL being said by some folks.

At one point it was so taken for granted that a Doby was unstable, one of the things I heard said was that "A Doberman's brain is to big for it's skull so they go insane." All the BS hype about Pits is right up there with that statement.

And yes if there was an out break of GSD's attacking children I wouldn't be stupid enough to buy one

I don't have a dog in this fight (no pun intended), but the breed prejudice IMHO is as bad as politicians blaming guns. Yes, any dog regardless of breed can attack. The only tattoo I have is of a dog I had for 11 years, which happened to be part pitbull part german shephard mix. I seen him get agressive and ready to kill one time. He was laying in my mom's lap (full grown but thought he was a lap dog) and a family friend came through the woods. It was dark and my dog was doing nothing but his natural instincts, to protect his owner. When he realized who it was, he instantly tucked his tail and his head. I cried like a baby when he passed. If I have to, yes I'll put a bullet in any dog, including my own, which despite how much my boy antagonizes it (yes I get onto my son) has never shown agression to my kids or me.

And remember there was supposed to be something glandular in a rottie that would make them "turn on you" when they got a certain age.........bs.

Biting and mauling are two different things show me where GSD's have mauled a child to death and ill show you 10 where pits have done it

The reason there is so much info is because of the internet. Something that did not exist when the GSD was in the crosshair. Remember that a lot of what happens is because dumb asses that want a mean dog get the one with the worst reputation at the time and make it mean.

Also, look CLOSELY at those reports about pit bull attacks and you'll find that most do NOT have a clear identification of the breed. It's the media's default position that if they are not sure of breed or if the dog looks like a bully breed at all, it was a pit. Now add that to the fact that "pit bull" attacks are news worthy while most other attacks are not and you see the problem with concluding that pit bulls are crazy killer dogs based on news reports. Talk to people that actually work in the dog world, people that interact with a lot of dogs of all breeds, and you will find that the bias against pits is VERY rare with them. It just doesn't stand up to real experience.

No problem here either man. If I was being self fulfilling I would have shot both of them with out giving them a chance to leave. Its not the dogs fault. If people would do a better job of keeping up with there dogs then there would be less of this. I have had problems with german shepards here also but the pits story came to mind first. I am just glad I didnt tell my kids to run out and jump in the truck with out me becaue it may have turned out diffrently. I dont want to ever use my weapon on a human or dog but if it comes down to it I will especially when it comes to my family.
