I have a dog nearly twice the size of a pitbull, abused from a previous owner and I don't let my son around it without me being there, is it cuz I don't trust the dog? No, its because my son can sometimes be a little butt (16 months and he's scolded) to the dog.

If your not going to take the steps to keep the dogs(any breed) from ripping kids to shreds, then the owner should be charged. If the dog kills a child the owner should be charged with murder. He put the tool of the murder there. If it only minorly injured the child, mailman, old lady whatever, then they should be charged with attempted.

No bur you need to scrutinize the numbers, if I pull up stats that say 40k people a year are killed by guns it makes guns look bad, then you break it down to gang violence, self defense shootings/Leo shootings etc. Information of a dog attacking proves nothing. Based on their reputation thousands of homies will go out and buy a pit or rottie instead of a poodle, mistreat it and then on news is a report of a dog attack in section 8 housing. Unfortunately they just depict numbers and not how the animal was raised/treated.
