Another one bites the dust.

my 69 GTO would leave rubber in all gears, cool to go back and look at the space in the black mark where you made the shift
Yea, I can't imagine what my 700hp Monte Carlo would be like with a stick. Lay great drags in first and second, but it ain't spinning in 3rd. It's an auto. I had a Mustang GT factory rep car. You didn't shift right from second to third, it'd get sideways in a hurry. It was a 5spd

Mrs Roundhouse hates driving automatics .

And that’s part of what attracted me to her

We met on a blind date and she was cute , smart (masters degree in mathematics, minor in education , piano and calculus )
From the same socioeconomic background and comparable religious and morals , no crazy , no drama , and she drive a manual trans by choice (she had a red Chevy Cavalier with the four cylinder and 5 speed )

Her current ride is a 2009 turbocharged Mini Cooper with the six speed .

There’s still quite a few of us who like to Drive our cars , not just steer them .

I learned how to drive in my
Moms 67 Beetle and my dads spare car ,
A 63 Mercury Meteor, with the 221 V-8 and three on the tree , Manual drum brakes on all four wheels , no power steering and no seatbelts .

Then all my 18 wheelers had a 9 or a 13 speed .
And my bronco had the three on the tree and now has a five speed manual .

It’s sad , but that’s what this world is coming to . Bunch a weenies who can’t drive a manual .
You can’t even get a corvette with a manual anymore

And you can’t get a manual in ANY pickup I don’t think .

And most of the 18 wheelers have automatics now.

If you aren’t co ordinated enoigh ti drive a manual, you got NO business driving a 18 wheeler .

And you can see the intelligence and quality of truck drivers now that they all have automatics .
Yea, big difference in a manual and auto in a Cooper. :becky:

I had an 87 VW Fox back in 97 that was SO basic it only had 4 forward gears. Back in 11 I scored an 88 Sentra two door four speed from the original owners for $550.00 . Again the base models from back then were really basic. The Sentra only had a door mirror on the driver's side. Import trucks used to list rear bumpers as an option.
Yep, I remember those days. Drove a few basic vehicles for a while

I used to hold a drink, smoke a cigarette and drive a stick all at the same time. Came around a curve one day doing just that. There was a garbage truck stopped in the middle of the road. I slid my car in sideways to a stop right behind him. Didn't spill a drop or an ash off my cigarette.......:becky:
Under cover brother!
