Another piece of **** Chevrolet just got the report last night! This is who we should be protesting against! Ford Chevy Dodge Toyota

Well, I guess I’ll find out how it goes. Went and drove the GMC, Ford, Ram, and Toyota. Ended up picking the Tundra. Wasn’t looking at new but off lease. Found a ‘23 1794 hybrid back in February with 17k miles on it, and yes, bought the extended warranty.

The Chevy 4.3 was a F'in awesome engine that woulda went head to head with them.
I had at least three vehicles that I remember with the GM 4.3L . They do keep running without a doubt. But they scared the hell out of me every morning when I cranked them up. For whatever reason every 4.3 I owned sounded like it was about to throw a rod whenever I first started it up.
Oh and they have a drinking problem. Yeah the MPG kinda sucked. But longevity was the selling point anyway.

Yes I had a 2003 four runner V-8 I bought new. My then wife put over 350,000 trouble free miles on it. It was a forever vehicle until she ran it ignoring the temperature light and overheated the aluminum block motor to its death. Would have been a simple thermostat fix. But what can I say. Even idiots ignore idiot lights.
My landlord had a first gen Navigator for many years. It was his wife's car when she was a school teacher in Houston Co. Anyway one day she called and told him the oil light was on and she needed to know what to do. He told her "Park it and turn it off right NOW!" She responded with " I have to get back to work. I don't have time to park it right now."
So he told her " Okay well just keep doing whatever the **** you been doing. Cause in a few minutes you're gonna have all the time in the world... while you wait for the tow truck."

And she did and he had to pay for it........Yep.......

I agree, they all suck. Every new vehicle is awesome and amazing until some electronic hiccup kills it. I have no idea how to fix these new vehicles. There is no choice but a visit to the dealer, possibly a loner car and hope they figure out what is wrong. If they don't find the problem, rest assured it will reaper after warranty expires.
Then we back this junk up with insurance companies tht are ran by the Mafioso. State Farm sucks for sure.

I'd want something used not older than 2015
Can of worms......I used to like getting a new one every few years, back in the day. I knew back in the 70s this day would eventually come for me. It did take much longer than I expected. Newest thing I have is an 06 motorcycle and an 05 truck. Both were bought new

My assessment has been that pretty much all the new 1/2 tons are hot garbage these days and keeping them out of warranty is a danger proceed at your own risk proposition.

I think any new truck reliablity/ longevity to be had is in the 3/4 ton 1 ton market. (gassers)
