Any A/C guys in the Athens, Monroe area?

Got a bit of a problem with the A/C recently. Need some help!

I forgot to change the filter and it was stuck inside the unit. It was also frozen. I thawed it out and put in a new filter. Now it won’t keep up. Vents are blowing at about 62-65 degrees. Unit isn’t frozen now. Low Freon maybe??

It’s 79 according to the thermostat. I have it set at 72

Probably blew the compressor valves

Is that something that can be repaired or will it need to be replaced?

62 isnt far off from where it should be, almost a 20 degree drop. Especially as humid as it is today. How long had the unit been running when you took the reading?

I reset it (breakers) about an hour ago.

It’s blowing at 68 now

Biggest question is did it fully thaw out? That indoor coil will tend to have about 3-4" of solid ice on all sides if left running long enough. If it didn't fully thaw out, it will refreeze, even with a clean filter.

I used a hair dryer to speed up the process. It was about 1/2 way up the coils. I thawed it completely inside and out.
