On my 95 Yamaha 350 quad I have a "thermistor" and it no longer working. Any part places say the part is obsolete. So to my understanding is that is a resistor that as it heats up it is either way more resistant or way less resistant. So can I just replace it with a resistor? Anybody know cuz I sure as h*ll don't lol. Thanks in advance

These come in positive and negative coefficient types, the resistance increases (positive) or decreases depending on it's temperature. This being said if you knew the cold value of the original thermistor and how much current was required for the circuit to operate correctly, you probably could replace it with a standard resistor if you used one that was the correct wattage. If you have a good schematic of the circuit, e-mail me a copy and I will try to help you (rspells@att.net).
