I have a 1992 F150 That I want to restore to its former glory. The hood and the roof are the most faded spots. I don't really want to go to maaco because I don't think they would do that great of a job...could be wrong.

I would like to keep the factory scheme.

Slowly but surely I want to get this thing restored. Ive got some tasteful upgrades. She runs like a mad dog but she needs some love visually.

I think you may get that paint back to pretty good shine if all you're looking to do is pretty it up to drive. I've used Dupont #7 on faded paint and it works great. It's a little hard to find anymore, but I think some of the old timers on here will agree with a little elbow grease, that paint will be nice.

We have a Caliber Collision here in Lynchburg and I noticed there was one in Marietta. They do excellent work. Now if that is a chain outfit then they should be good. The have a very high rating from their reviews. Their is always a rear end that will gripe about the silliest things but over all they look good on paper. Check them out and see if they are a chain.

I'm doing the same to an old truck that was ROUGH and a good paint job is $$$$. If you pulled your own panels, doors, bed and did all the sanding /prep yourself, you could probably get a decent job at MACO for the cheapest out.

Dont get be wrong I've polished this a few times over the years with something similar like nufinish. Unfortunate it has a small bit of body damage as shown in the pictures. so if I get that taken care of the next step would be to repaint back to original colors. There are small spot of surface rust in the hood, but the hood is by far the worst of the original finish. If this were a daily driver then I would just leave it as is to continue to gather up scars, but I want this baby looking like new again.

They are a chain. I have worked for Caliber/ABRA. You are dead wrong.

That's a good looking truck that appears to be in excellent condition. Be prepared to open your wallet for a decent paint job. Material will be in the ballpark of $4k. That's for good quality materials, but not the Gucci stuff.
