Any ebay experts on here?

So, since this is full of e-bay experts, tell me what you think. I won the auction and paid immediately on that Saturday. The item ships Monday from Florida and I get a tracking number. I notice the thing is routing through San Francisco and ask a question of the seller regarding that after it doesn't show up on Wednesday. He responds telling me that the POST OFFICE 'screwed up' and put the wrong labels on the packages (color me skeptical) and that my package was sent back to him and the one I will get is not mine and asks me to send it back. Never volunteers to pay postage so I just refused delivery on Friday when it arrived and post man said "no problem, we'll return to sender". The online tracking record shows I refused the package so the seller is aware I don't have it. Now the seller has STILL not shipped the right package and says he's waiting to get the other one back. I asked him how that is my problem since I've paid him, he has my item yet won't ship, and the item he doesn't have is not in my possession nor was it ever. He has a lot of feedback and his score is 100%. Am I wrong to assume he should have already shipped me the item and would you leave negative feedback?

I would wait until it is over and then leave feedback.

If it was me, I would open up a PayPal case on Friday.

Any updates? Seller still communicating with you?

Opening a case on paypal might be the kick in the pants that is needed.
No response from my email yesterday asking him to verify that he HAD my item that I already paid for but was not shipping it.....
I'll give him one more day....

Using the max bid option on ebay will take it up incrementally to your max bid as others bid on that item. A sniper site will wait to the last min.

Lets say the item is 30 bucks your willing to pay 40. The ebay way is every time he outbids you it automatically put the next increment in for you. So 30 goes to 32 for instance and so on creating a bidding war. With the sniper site it stays at 30 till the last min so as to let your nemesis think he has the upper hand. Then at the last nano second it bids for you to 32 dollars and you win. There is no way for him to react.
Hope this makes sense been drinking.

It makes perfectly good sense except if the other guy and three others all have a sniping program then whatever you max bid would have been might be good and might not that same as if you just put in your max bid the regular way. I say if you want to shop ebay enough then get a sniper if not just chance it or wait til the last couple minutes to bid. I generally just bid the max I want to pay and if someone outbids me and I want it bad enough I'll bid a bit more but never more than I am willing to pay.

I got a couple Ruger Old Army revolvers off gun broker. I bid on a whole bunch before some went for as low as I was willing to pay.

So, how much do these snipers cost, and if you are willing to pay up to a certain amount, do you end up paying more because of their fees?
