Yeah man I mess with them a lot. I don't have any high dollar knives but I can put pretty good edge on one. Send me a pm and maybe we can get together.
I been a knife guy for about 4yrs now. It's a lot to take in.
What kind of knives are you wanting? Tactical folders, traditional folders/ slip joints, butterfly, flippers, switchblade, or fixed.
Decide on what kind then it will be easier.

I kill time with the dude, I was just looking for someone to show me the ropes on how to sharpen a knife using a flat stone. LolSo this thread is like an open case against his sharpening skills??
I got a Spyderco native and a Walmart sharpener. I just want to learn the skill of knife sharpening in person vs YouTube lol
Ahhhh... Well... I asked because I am not a flat stone guy so can't help ya there but was checking on what you were interested in...
A Sharpie will be your friend... Mark the edge and learn to take the whole pen mark off... You will be surprised how uneven your swipes are until you get used to it and the naked eye won't give you a good read on progress without the sharpie
