Any knife guys in Coweta County?

Anyone in Coweta County area willing to show me how to use a stone properly?

I'm a newbie and acquired a nice blade and want to learn.

I been a knife guy for about 4yrs now. It's a lot to take in.

What kind of knives are you wanting? Tactical folders, traditional folders/ slip joints, butterfly, flippers, switchblade, or fixed.

Decide on what kind then it will be easier.

When you say "use a stone", are you set on using a flat stone?
What types of knives are you looking to sharpen and what sharpening system do you have?

Ahhhh... Well... I asked because I am not a flat stone guy so can't help ya there but was checking on what you were interested in...
A Sharpie will be your friend... Mark the edge and learn to take the whole pen mark off... You will be surprised how uneven your swipes are until you get used to it and the naked eye won't give you a good read on progress without the sharpie
