Any ODT brothers on here plumbers?

I have a tiny pinhole leak in a copper water pipe in my basement. 4 or 5 drops a day, but we all know what that will unexpectedly turn into.... an indoor pool.

I can call a plumber, but would rather deal with an ODTer, if possible.

Yes, I know I can just hacksaw off a couple inches and put a 'shark tooth' on it, but those things just scare me a little on a water line... looking for a sleeve and solder fix.

That's probably what the plumber is going to do, but he's going to give you a bill for about $200.00, instead of just the $12.00 price of the sharkbite.

If the "Plumber" is actually qualified to sweat copper, I would imagine the price will increase.

I'm not a plumber, but I do my own plumbing.

Not a plumber... but if the leak is that small... I'd try it.

I'm by no means a plumber, but I've used several sharkbites around the house over the years, and haven't had any problem out of them.

Well or not, I'm on city water and I've had several pin holes that I cut out soldered.
I'll be using the sharkbite from now on.

What THOR said. My builder used the thin grade copper pipe and it lasted 20 years. I had to replace all with CPVC.
