def not vouching for his technique built I have rebuilt a couple of these. It is a great deal but needs to be rescaled... The grip panels are hollow plastic and cause bad balance. Adding 1/4 Micarta scales greatly helps with grip and durability. (I just use hollow tubes instead of pins)

if you are looking for a katana, the Musashi shirikawa series is a very well reviewed/tested piece of differentially treated 1060... Any of the SS8XXbk or SS8XXrd use the same blade so find one available with a tsuba and saya you like and go for it... They range between $80-$125 shipped
