I'm hoping to get a value on a camera that came from a family member.

It's a Rollei 35S camera, looks to be in mint condition (though the original box does show some wear.)

I have no way of testing everything to see if it all works, so hopefully I can also find someone to go over it for me to make sure it is in fact in good working condition.

If someone could help me with one or both of those things, I would appreciate it.

It's a German design made in Singapore. If it's in pristine condition, meaning that it works properly and is clean, it's worth in the $250.00 range.

I used to have one of these. Fun little "spy cameras", produced in the late 70s & early 80s. Beyond checking the shutter and listening to what it sounds like, the best thing to do is run a roll of film through it and get it developed. On eBay these go for ~$200 or so. Yours would probably fetch more because you have the box, papers, and it looks like a flash too. The Kodak Disc stuff is unrelated.

I am by no means an expert but I do know a little about old school cameras. Turn the charging handle on the top until it locks, it should click while doing so. Open the back and look toward the lens. Depress the shutter button and if everything is in working order you should see the shutters open and close quickly.
This is part of my vintage camera collection

Call the fine folks at Peachtree Camera Repair in Marietta at (770) 795-8020. If they can't help you, they can probably direct you to the right person. There used to be a man in Atlanta that dealt with vintage cameras, but I can't remember his name, and he may well have passed by now.

Good luck. I'm a 20 year professional photographer, and have a few old cameras on the shelf.

Thanks for the advice, I ran it up to Peachtree camera and they called me back today.

Everything checked out fine except the light meter is broken and needs to be repaired. I don't want to spend anything to have it fixed just to sell it. If anyone is interested, I'll give it up for $50 as is, so you can get it fixed.
