Took my daughters out there today and fished for a few hours. Had a blast, ended up catching two little 3-4" fish with a bobber, large red worms and #6 hooks. What are you guys that fish there using? Worms, crickets, crank baits? Not sure if it was too hot or I was using the wrong tackle, or maybe the spot wasn't that good? What are yall using off the bank in allatoona for that matter? Just started fishing again for the first time in a while and would like to catch something big enough to eat.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions!

I used to fish Rope Mill before the dam washed away. In the spring, crappie, white bass and hybrids would stack up just below the dam. It may still be a bit of a barrier, not sure. Anyway, I used crappie jigs and wore them out. You have to experiment with colors as what the fish would hit changed regularly. And sometimes they wanted feather jigs and sometimes curly tail plastic jigs. I would think minnows would work anytime.
Let us know if this helps.
