My son does. I still do occasionally. He's got a 67 camaro with a mild 427 sbc mated to a powerglide.
Runs 6.50's at 102mph in 1/8
Car is all steel except hood.

I did in the late 70s early 80s at Great Lakes Dragaway, Union Grove Wisconsin. 73 Dodge Charger built 440 magnum, A727 3500 stall torque converter, Dana 60 4:56 grears built by Strange Engineering. Low 10s in the 1/4. Hellova lot of fun.
