80 V Kobalt runs for a couple of hours and is powerful. Only downside is it is heavy. I made a leather strap to support it while using it.

Anybody own a battery powered weed eater ?

I bought the EGO mower and blower from HOME DEPOT a few months ago. Absolutely love them. Both run on same battery packs. The blower has a smaller battery that only lasts about 20 minutes...but it recharges fast. The mower battery is bigger but works on blower too and lasts longer. I can cut my whole yard with the push mower...takes over an hour.
And the mower even has lights on it. It’s a hoot to cut grass in the dark when it’s cooler outside.
I’ve got the 18v Ryobi stuff. Drill, circular saw, weed eater, hedge trimmer. Two chargers and six batteries. It’s all great for light duty around the house work.
Home Depot used to run sales on them occasionally, don’t know if they still do.
Went with a yard service two years ago, never looked back.

Been running the Ryobi 40v mower for the last 2 years. Two yard trims per charge.
Just waiting on the gas weedeater (echo) to go south before I spend the cash to make the move to all electric.

56volt ego mower and blower here. So far no regrets if you get the higher amp hour battery the run plenty long enough if the battery dies it’s only a couple beers before it’s recharged
I also have a cheap Ryobi 18 v because I had other stuff anyway and have been very surprised. The 4 ah batteries are best. If you are only weedeating grass you will be happy. It’s light and will run probably as long as you want to work with out a break. I also have several batteries so its not an issue but I rarely run one down. I give it 5 stars for just grass

+1 for the EGO brand. I have their blower and weed eater and both work extremely well. going on 2 years with both now.

It also lasted a loooong time. (Life of it, not batteries). Maybe 13 years?
Id compare battery life with how much property you'll be using it on. Also take in to consideration how much extra batteries cost.
Most of my tools are all battery now and the technology has come a long way.
That being said, i got a gas powered weed eater/edger/ etc combo. Starts fine and got a plug in starter (engine cranker) for my mother for when she uses it.
It meant having at least 2 other charged batteries on back up.
