Anyone do any hydroponics, aquaponics, or alternate methods of growing food?

I want to. Tried setting up a aquaponics set up on fish tank, but it didn't work because my house sucks for light.

you can buy individual t5 tube fixtures for like $30 at Atlantis Hydroponics.
You can use compact fluorescent or metal halide. Compact fluorescent is cheaper. I've done several of these.Thats pretty cool.

I started with a koi pond years ago then started some hydroponics using a flood bed. Really didn't have time to invest in it. Gave my setup away but I'm still stuck with a 5,000 gallon pond full of mature koi and goldfish.
All I know is that my tomatoes really like it!
And I'm Adding some more veggies on the other side. Cukes, okra, squash, etc.
And hopefully an NFT system in the back for lettuce, herbs, and strawberries.
