Anyone else out this morning?

We have fun with it, and have used it in science projects. 695 dead squirrels equals right at $43,500 in pecans saved.

I'm not trolling or trying to be a butt, please don't take this wrong, how do/did you come up with the $43.5k evaluation? I don't doubt your number, just curious about how you came up with that number.

No problem. I've seen 2 studies done where squirrels deprivate 56lbs of pecans per growing season. To make the math easy, I use 50lbs. 695 squirrels X 50lbs per squirrel X $1.25 which is a good average price per pound on pecans and ya get somewhere around $43,500 back in the farmers pocket. I know it's a but rough and not exact but gives an idea of what kind of good we're doing.

Thank you. I figured you had a formula and was just curious. The farmers should be paying for your ammo at least..

I'm on call free pest control for the farmers around here. Never have to worry about a place to hunt, have walked into my office to find directions and a permission slip laying on my desk. I just love the hunt, without having to worry about paying for leases or fighting for a spot on public lands. I doubt I'll ever make any magazines but I'm OK with that.

Sounds like you have a good deal going. I'm sure its worth the world to the farmers. Round here you gotta have deep pockets if you wanna hunt anything other than public land.

Back staring at the tree tips again this morning, finally got some rain so should be able to relax this weekend. Little cool out here, looking forward to the sunrise.
