Anyone have experience with Solar tires?

For the money go with it. She doesn't drive much and the tires will probably dry rot before any issues come up. I used to put inexpensive but decent tires on my moms car. More expensive tires rot at the same rate. I know this from experience.

Nah, it's 1996 Tercel with 128,xxx on it, bought new, meticulously maintained by the book and in perfect condition for its age. She's 88, and this will likely be the last set of tires the little car sees.

Solar is made or offered by Sumitomo. Sumitomo also owns Falken Tire. If the Japanese are involved, there is a tremendous amount of quality control. Not that the other brands don't have quality control.

Most low level inexpensive Passenger and Light Truck import lines in the US are not made in China- due to the high tariff and duties imposed over the past years. Production is mostly in Thailand, Taiwan, India, S. Korea, Indonesia, Viet Nam, etc.
