Anyone own a variety store?

I have the unusual opportunity to buy a turn key store for about 4k it is full of stuff and could literally open it as is. I would have rent etc to deal with but am curious as to the profit margins Etc. has anyone failed at one of these? I figure for 4k it's worth a shot.

Depends on the store, products and previous sales. Might be cheap but you could be buying 4000 bucks worth of junk

I'd consult your tax person...and see what can be written off if it fails, and also if it thrives.

If its' the variety store on the corner of 20 and Buford Hwy, I would do it. However, if you don't have retail experience you may want tot hire or retain a good manager.
