This one was my grandads it's really old not sure when it was made. I carry it every day, haven't smoked in 5+ years but I just can't seem to kick the habit of carrying it. I swear it made smokes taste better. Now it's only the occasional cigar and maybe setting some leaves on fire in the yard. I guess it just makes me feel good to carry something my grandad carried everyday. It makes me think of him daily. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1368254660.413193.jpg

tuck a flint or 2 in the cotton, always have at least a small can of fluid.......g'pas lighter will always come through

I recently saw a similar thread on another forum. It brought back many "red leg" memories. The disposable's have no character.

I had an old 1960's era Ronson Typhoon that I carried for many years. I quit smoking just after the blizzard in 93'. Near coughed up a lung shoveling snow so I could get to the store for more cigarettes.

I eventually stopped carrying a lighter and don't have a clue as to where the ole Ronnie is now.

Carry and use one daily...
I got a few of them sitting in a drawer somewhere. Only one was retired for being defective drop it three stories and bent the hinge.

send it back to Zippo, they will fix it free...lifetime garuntee exept for the finish on them. I have about 10 of them. All the hinges got loose so I packed them all off to Zippo, they came back like new with new innards.
