I screwed up the muzzle brake on my AR-10. It was made during the AWB so the muzzle brake was welded on. I tried using a drill press to drill out the welded pin and ended up punching too big of a hole through the threads. I guess there is a chance that I can still get the muzzle brake off and use the remaining threads but in all likelihood I'll need to cut the barrel and put some more threads on it. The current barrel is 16.1" included the 2" muzzle break. My guess is that I'll need a flash/comp suppressor that's at least 2.5-2.75" to get to the 16" limit after the barrel gets cut/threaded.

Can you guys recommend a smith who can do this job well and at a decent price?

Thanks,
Tom
