Why on Earth are most AR-10 receiver sets billet and most slab side. Now I don't know about you guys but I prefer the traditional look with the duct cover and forward assist. I have been looking around at parts to upgrade my AR-10 in 6.5 Creedmoor by the way and there are very few sets that have both of those features. Aero Precision and Stag have them but I was wondering if there are anymore reputable manf. that offer more forged AR-10 receiver sets with dust cover and forward assist? Also has anyone heard any feedback in the Nemo Arms 308 receiver set. It's hellava pricey but just wondering?

Billet is supposed to offer more in terms of custom cuts/designs/fittings but it costs more to produce, lots of waste.

There are myriad offerings of both on the market. I'd be stunned to meet someone who has experience with more than two or three makers of AR10 receiver sets and there seem to be dozens available.

I doubt most folks put anywhere near enough rounds downrange through an AR10 to actually test the strength of even one receiver set, much less multiple maker's.

Other than aesthetics, why do you want a forward assist? I have fired God knows how many rounds through AR type rifles and I have never, in more than 42 years of shooting them, used or needed a forward assist. I have used a rubber hammer to unlock the damned bolts on a couple, but going into battery? You might have some type of ham hands that can pound an 8 lug bolt into locking up in the extension, but I'm a normal human.

Good luck in your search. You mention AR10 but does that include SR25 pattern too?

You don't say what your budget for the receiver set is.
